So my girlfriend and I went to see Weird Al Yankovic. I knew to expect a good time, but I didn’t expect to be blown away and to be laughing so damn hard the next time.

I had lucked into finding some 2nd row, aisle tickets on the floor at the Palace Theatre and when Weird Al played “Wanna be your Lovr” he was going through the crowd and humping, eyeing random women audience members... my woman was the lucky recipient of the 2nd verse

Girl, you smell like Fritos

That’s why I’m giving you this hungry stare

You’re so hot, you’re gonna melt

The elastic in my underwear

She loved it. She cried tears of joy at the end of the show. My cheeks were red from laughing so much. Excellent way to spend a night

Not gonna lie my first ever concert was Weird Al. Saw him at Summerfest in Milwaukee many many years ago. Went with my sister when her date bailed.

Most fun I had at a concert.

Partly because there was a thunderstorm that night, every other stage closed except for Al’s which was under an overpass, and between the crowd and the costume changes and his energy... lets just say I went to a couple more of his when he came to town. Even met him once after a show to get my ticket signed. He’s pretty tall in person.

Wow! We missed a chance to see him a couple weeks ago, scheduling conflicts and a Sunday night show made it tough. There is no other artist I’ve been listening to for longer. In 5th grade, I had a Panasonic tape deck and about 6-7 Weird Al tapes. And NOTHING else. Well, I did have Dire Straits and Madonna on vinyl, but I wasn't going to drag those all over town.

I’ve never seen him in concert. I think he’s getting even better with age. A couple months ago I watched a bunch of his new videos with my kids. Just hilarious.

my girlfriend was noting that her nephew would probably love his stuff... Some 10year old girl was singing every word to every song all night. She never missed a beat

I saw him once about a decade ago, right after White and Nerdy came out. He’s hilarious and a great live entertainer. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen.

Hey, I remember that! I left because the storms were too much. I remember huddling under the overpass before we eventually took off. 2003, I think?

I’ve always wondered about seeing him live. I was huge fan when I was younger, and Mandatory Fun really brought me back to him. I always thought it would be entertaining, but wasn’t sure if it would be worth it. Guess I know now.

I think it was earlier than that... late 90's maybe.

You definitely should go... Fans ranged from 7 years old all the way up to 80s from my observation.

All had fun

Looks like he’s coming back around my way in late August. I’ll definitely see about going now.

The man puts so much physical effort into his shows it’s a wonder he hasn’t had a stroke yet. Still my favorite show I’ve been to though.
